Education for the future of the country

The Ministry of Education informs that at present the project “Implementation of a model for optimizing a health-forming educational environment “School for a Healthy Future” for students of the first stage of general secondary education is not being implemented in institutions of general secondary education. Any contradicting information on this matter in destructive telegram channels is fake.

In order to comprehensively study the factors influencing the preservation of student health during the educational process, the Ministry of Education is considering the issue of organizing an innovative project in general secondary education institutions using health-saving technologies developed by Professor V.F. Bazarny. These technologies provide for training sessions in the mode of changing dynamic poses (using stand-up desks), the use of ophthalmic simulators, environmental paintings-panels. Changing dynamic poses means a child can study for some time seating at the normal desks and then change his position and work standing up at the special adjustable stand-up desks. The more a child changes his poses, the better for his growing organism. Bazarny’s project is currently undergoing expert evaluation at the Academy of Education and the Ministry of Health of Belarus.

As part of the implementation of the action plan of the subprogram “Prevention and Control of Non-Infectious Diseases” of the State Program “People’s Health and Demographic Security of Belarus”, an interdepartmental information project “School is a Territory of Health” has been implemented in general secondary education institutions since 2016. As part of it, it is planned to improve the material and technical base, conduct in-depth medical examinations of students, and survey participants in the educational process in order to determine the level of satisfaction with the state of work to create health-saving conditions. Health-improving activities are being integrated into the educational process, family counseling, and training teachers in health-preserving mechanisms.

Depending on the level of implementation of health conservation measures, educational institutions implementing the “School – Territory of Health” project are structured according to the following stages of functioning:

Stage I – “Health promotion.” In the field of health conservation, an educational institution operates at a basic level and declares itself as an institution of learning that promotes a healthy lifestyle;

Stage II – “School that assists health strengthening.” An educational institution that partially implements a set of measures necessary to create a health-preserving environment;

Stage III – “School of Health”. An institution of learning that has the highest level of development and implements a structured, integrated approach to creating a health-preserving environment.

Based on the results of 2023, the work to implement the project was recognized as effective in 1,366 out of 2,066 general secondary education institutions.
