The National Center for Children and Youth Art will present a documentary play that focuses on the calendar of memory: pages of fate from February 17th to 21st. The production, created with the participation of students from all over the country, is intended to strengthen the succession of generations and preserve the historical memory of the deeds of the Belarusian people in the years of the Great Patriotic War.
The base of the play consists of authentic archival materials: diary of civilians, front letters, exhibits of museums and documents of memorial complexes. This is not an artistic interpretation, but the voices of those who are no longer with us. The play presents three documentary chapters:
* "The Sounds of the Silent Earth" - witnesses' testimony to the tragedy of burned villages;
* "Forever inscribed" - the soldiers' last letters and their unfulfilled dreams;
* "The Arithmetic of the Soul" - memories of concentration camp prisoners.
Young people from all over Belarus worked on the project, including students from schools, gymnasiums, colleges, students of the Belarusian State University, and the Institute of Border Service, as well as winners of republican creative competitions.
This play is a bridge between generations. It combines the strict documentation of the archives with the genuine emotions of modern youth, which carefully passes on historical memory to future generations, - note the directors of the project.
