The working visit began with a conversation with teachers of the Mstislavl educational and methodological office, as well as the Children's Art Center of the city. Particular attention was paid to additional education of the younger generation.
Next stop was in Gorki. Andrei Ivanets examined learning conditions for students at the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy.
In a conversation with the leadership of the academy, Andrei Ivanets noted that the issue of training highly qualified specialists for various sectors of the economy is currently pressing one. The agro-industrial complex is no exception. An important role is given to high-quality training and enterprises with the prefix “agro” should not be left out. Universities in close cooperation with personnel customers should take care of creating decent conditions for internships, as well as for students to complete coursework and diploma projects, and then take care of sending young specialists to work and retaining them at enterprises.
“Young people want to see the prospects for their future, so we must pay special attention not only to career guidance work, but also to creating conditions for training, living and subsequent professional development and work. That is why, when discussing with the management of the agricultural academy, we are now discussing issues related to the use of the potential of the teaching staff, scientists who work not only in the academy but in other scientific and educational organizations of the agro-industrial complex of our country, interaction with the real sector of the economy,” said Andrey Ivanets.
To ensure that theory does not diverge from practice, the university has created all the conditions. In the training of specialists, they use their own training ground, an auto-tractor track, a car diagnostic station, workshops, a veterinary clinic, a biotechnology center for plant growing, a nursery, a vivarium, a botanical garden and much more. The full list can be found on the website of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy. By the way, they plan to bring the apiary to an industrial level.
The Academy assures that they are keeping up with the times. Training centers and laboratories are constantly being modernized, new majors that the country needs are being opened. Rector of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy Vitaly Velikanov informs: “70% of the curriculum is devoted to practical classes not only in the laboratories and centers of the Academy, but also at enterprises. The main areas for the future are, of course, the introduction of new technologies from production into the educational process, the development of innovative activities. For example, we have had new combines for five years, which only three years ago went into serial production and are now in the fields.”
The parties further discussed the topic of increasing the prestige of agricultural specialties. The Minister of Education emphasized: “The most important thing is that our agro-industrial production, our institutions of higher learning do not lag behind in the field of development of science and technology, because artificial intelligence technologies, information technologies, as well as genetic etc. should be widely implemented and be the most attractive factor so that the guys, coming to the agricultural sector, understand that these are high technologies and highly qualified specialists.”
For those who are considering the correspondence form of obtaining education, the Minister recommends an effective method: "First, you need to establish yourself as a specialist. Come to college, get the appropriate specialty, work at the enterprise, understand that this was a truly conscious choice and then, if necessary, apply for a shortened period of education in correspondence form"
In general, BSAA has everything that fully meets the highest modern requirements of higher education institutions. In fact, all students in need of assistance are provided with dormitories (more than 90% come from different cities). Young people actively participate in public, cultural, mass, sports events. In general, those who come to study in Gorki receive everything they need to feel at home. There are also many who opt to remain, settle and start a family.
During the Week of Parental Love, the Minister of Education emphasized that the topic of family in our country should be relevant every day. Every year, a competition for the best student family is held in Belarus among the country's universities. This is a kind of incentive to increase the awareness of the choice of family life by young people. In this regard, interaction with parents is an integral part of every kindergarten, school, college, university in our country.
Parents, teachers and students jointly should contribute not only to the training of a highly qualified specialist, but also to the upbringing of a citizen of their country.
“In the student environment, much attention is paid not only to spiritual and moral education, but also to family education. The state is primarily based on family traditions and our Belarusian values. I am sure that today's youth is being brought up on our values, when we talk about the need for a union between a man and a woman. Family is, first of all, the continuation of a generation, the upbringing of children. Therefore, on Parental Love Week, we once again raise the relevance of this topic.”
