2024 admission campaign starts very soon and it means the time is ripe to support those who have spent years on preparation and aims towards the desired goal to get a major, the one that will become one’s breadwinning major. Every student selects his own.
Let us remind you, admission of applicants is carried out in accordance with the rules on admission of persons to receive general higher and specialized higher education. The rules were approved by the Decree of the Head of State №23 of January 27, 2022.
This year is not different as additional opportunities for admission have been preserved for graduates of specialized classes with a professional direction. At the same time, a school graduate must have grades of no lower than eight in academic subjects of specialized tests and no lower than seven in all others. This is a key requirement. As an exception for graduates of specialized classes with an agricultural focus, a threshold has been established at no less than six points in academic subjects that correspond to the subjects of specialized tests.
Second requirement is for every applicant to present recommendations of the teaching committee of the institution of learning which one has completed. An interview is a must as well. One can be interviewed if has no less than 8 in academic subjects that correspond to the subjects of specialized tests, no less than 7 in other subjects and no less than 6 for agriculture class graduates.
Questions for the interviewee are annually set by a university commission and must completely reflect the content of the learning programs of the elective class of a specialized class.
The interview is conducted orally. To participate in it, the applicant submits an application to the university admissions committee. There he will be told about the place, date and time of the test. Based on the results of the interview, the commission decides whether the applicant passes or not. In case of disagreement with the results, the applicant or his legal representative has the right to file an appeal on the same day.
The list of specialized classes (groups) of professional orientation and specialties into which graduates can be enrolled is established by the Government, and the interview procedure is established by the Ministry of Education.
It should be noted that graduates of specialized classes must pass two centralized exams upon graduation, however, when entering a university, they will not be required to present the corresponding certificates, nor will they need to take on centralized testing.
Graduates of specialized classes in pedagogical, engineering, sports-pedagogical, and agricultural fields can only enter a university without a CT exam for a certain list of specialties. Thus, graduates of military-patriotic classes are expected at the Military Academy, the Institute of Border Service, the military faculties of BSU, BNTU, BSUIR etc.
