From April 29 to May 1, the First Belarusian-Uzbek Forum of Vocational Education will be held in Minsk. To participate in the event, a large delegation of leaders from various levels of the education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations K.A. Sharipov will arrive in Minsk.

The Uzbek delegation members are the heads of the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, rectors of leading Uzbek universities, and heads of vocational education institutions.

From the Belarusian side, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets will participate in the forum as well as heads of Belarusian universities and colleges. It is planned that more than 100 representatives of scientific and educational organizations, ministries and departments of the two countries will take part in the First Belarusian-Uzbek Forum of Vocational Education.

The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Belarus, the Council of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IDVE of the Republic of Uzbekistan), educational institution “Republican Institute of Vocational Education” (UO RIPO).

The purpose of the forum is to create an interstate platform for discussing and resolving a wide range of issues related to the development of secondary specialized and higher education, the formation of professional competencies of workers and specialists of the new economic structure, ensuring sustainable growth and development of interstate cooperation.

An agreement to hold the First Belarusian-Uzbek Forum of Vocational Education was reached in February of this year in Tashkent during an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan by a delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus headed by Mr. Ivanets to participate in the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan. During this visit, both ministers signed a cooperation agreement, which confirms the importance attached to expanding interaction between the two countries at all levels of education.

The busy program of the upcoming forum includes a number of events.

On April 29 at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, as well as at the branch of the Minsk State Automotive College named after Academician M.S. Vysotsky" RIPO will hold meetings of the forum sections.

On April 30, a plenary session of a large-scale event will be held at the National Library of the Republic of Belarus.

Within the framework of the forum, negotiations are planned between Mr. Ivanets and Mr. Sharipov.

In addition, rectors of universities in Uzbekistan will visit the Belarusian State Technological University. In turn, principals of Uzbek institutions of vocational and secondary special education will get acquainted with the branch “Resource Center “EcoTechnoPark-Volma” of the RIPO.

Within the framework of the forum, it is planned to sign a number of agreements between Belarusian and Uzbek universities, as well as between colleges of the Republic of Belarus and colleges, technical schools, vocational schools of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
